In praise of the treatment I received all I can say is that I recall seeing a clock registering 1010 and the next thing I knew was waking up in the recovery room asking 'is it all over?' no headache, no nausea--- brilliant ! In all honesty I can think of nothing which would enhance the treatment

Very calming manner, just Dr Uncles and a nurse as I recall in an area outside of the operating theatre. Next thing I knew I was waking up after my operation. I preferred this to a previous operation in 2006 when I recall not being anaesthetised until in the operating theatre.

At 89 years this was my first operation so I was naturally anxious. Dr Uncles was a joy and I was more than happy under his care.

Prior to my procedure I was very nervous but once Dr Uncles spoke to me I was completely relaxed.

The care from David was excellent One suggestion could be that during the initial meeting it could be mentioned that should the pain post operation take longer than normal to bring under control the patient may arrive back on the ward later than expected. My wife expected me back after 45 mins, however it was 2 hours due to pain relief taking longer

Profile

I am a specialist Anaesthetist with interests in Obstetric, Ambulatory and Inpatient anaesthesia. I employ a variety of anaesthetic techniques including general or regional anaesthesia, although I often use them in combination to optimise and enhance patients' peri and post-operative experience.
I am dedicated to putting the patient first through the provision of safe and reassuring care delivered in conjunction with my colleagues and associates.
I was present at the inauguration of the Helsinki Declaration in June 2010. This enshrines the values essential to the promotion of the highest professional and safety standards expected of anaesthetists. It is my hope to match or even exceed the expectations of patients who place their trust in me.
